The golf swing is quite a unique and personal motion … check out some of these classic swings. I wrote a little JavaScript function to stitch the still images together. These are from a series of golf swing photographs, taken by C. Bond Lloyd, for the 1918 monthly editions of “Golfers Magazine”.
January 1918 – Harry Vardon

Notice how Mr. Vardon’s hands lag behind the club shaft on his take-away.
April 1918 – Francis Ouimet

What a lovely swing plane Mr. Ouimet exhibits in his down-swing!
July 1918 – Bobby Jones (Age 16)

Really cool how young Bobby keeps his hands close into his body and uses a shallow takeaway. You can also see his famous, lucky rabbit’s foot swinging on his belt!
